hello again, everyone! today was pretty decent. class for five hours this morning, then we went downtown to explore a souk. i got someone's present there, but i'm not gonna say whose :D

we're switching books in class, so we'll be using one appropriate for the six people who are at 210 level rather than the 3 people who are at 250. i feel kind of bad for those three, and for the teachers for having to redesign the course plan and everything, but at the same time...well, i like the pace of the class, but i was so utterly lost in the reading passages, that this'll be much much much better.

the souk was pretty cool--the one we went to was mostly jewelry, with a couple other random stalls scattered around. we stopped at a restaurant run by an iraqi man, and had kebabs which were pretty yummy.

and we spent about an hour/hour and a half with ghassan (our faculty advisor/sponsor/whatever from mason) going over the past tense in depth, and it's nice and clear in my head now ^^

not much else to say about today. tomorrow is petra :D super-excited. will probably blather quite a bit longer than you want to hear after.
