Lux
This is primarily for people on rainbowfic, I'm doing a post like this for each of the four worlds I'll be working in...just basic information.
Lux is future sci-fi speculative religious fiction taking place in the late 30th century. Various nations of Earth have spread out into space, colonizing planets and trading/interacting with various Alien species.
In the year 2976, an group of Aliens performs a ritual to raise Lucifer from prison. This act kills all of them, and Lucifer disappears for two years, to emerge as a staff member on the Consortium of Sentient Peoples' main diplomatic center using the name Lux. There, Lucifer befriends a translator from Earth, Dr. Mariko Anders. After killing several people for undisclosed reasons and seriously injuring Mariko and alluding to her (she uses female pronouns in this story) true nature, she disappears again, and that is the end of Part 1.
The two main characters, obviously, are Mariko and Lux. Mariko has a Japanese mother and Australian father, and working for the Earth delegation to the CSP was her dream job until Lux ruined it all.
Lux is, of course, the Morning Star. There's a quasi-romantic relationship between the two of them. ...I think that's all the immediately important details. Like...pretty much all of my others, this world seems to have a core theme of the relationship between unpowered human beings and the supernatural, so the main story is mostly about the relationship between Lux and Mariko.
