Dear Boss:
Why the fuck did you decide holiday extended hours were going to start this Sunday and not tell anyone until Wednesday, well after the schedule had been posted?
Why the fuck do we have signs on the door saying that holiday hours are the same as regular hours?
Why the fuck did you only handwrite the change on the schedule for four of the seven or eight people who were closing tonight?
Why the fuck didn't you at least make sure all of the managers knew about the change, so when your hapless associates who didn't work between Monday and Saturday ask other managers for clarification about the handwritten change to the schedule, they don't get told 'no idea, that makes no sense to me'?
Why the fuck didn't you change the schedule with the floor cleaner who was scheduled to start at 8pm tonight?
Okay, maybe corporate was slow telling you about the change and it wasn't your fault. Fair enough. And it's not your fault I made plans for after work assuming I'd be out of there by eight. But it's not that hard to make sure that everyone who's closing Sunday knows they're gonna be stuck staying late. I even got a message left on my phone on Thursday to ask if I could come in for a few hours, and that wasn't mentioned at all. It wouldn't have been that hard for the message left to include "oh, btw, we're open late on Sunday." It still would have been off-putting, but at least I wouldn't have found out my evening was likely totally screwed over with less than twelve hours notice. >.<
No love,
