Spring semester courses!
Monday:
English 1030-1145: Chaucer
Canterbury Tales, read in Middle English. This one looks like it'll be fairly difficult, but a lot of fun. One analytical paper, two summaries of smarter people's analytical papers, and a portrait and tale modeled after Chaucer's. Written in Middle English. Which apparently I should at least be able to fudge before too long. We shall see.
Japanese 1230-120: Gateway to Advanced Japanese
I think. I'm actually currently registered for Intermediate Japanese, which seems to be the exact same course I took last semester at NOVA. Waiting for my transcripts to fully process is lame and will take to long, however, so I'm doing a placement test tomorrow afternoon.
Choir 130-245: University Singers
Top choir at Mason, confirmed as being good enough for it this afternoon. Doing a Haydn mass, which should be fun. ^^
Linguistics 3-415: Introduction (lecture)
Intro course, requirement for my concentration, just a basic overview of the field. Phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, acquisition, and sociolinguistics will be touched upon. I'm really excited about being part of this field, so looking forward to this class. Be aware that I may have you all fill out a little survey thingy for me for the final project, where we're going to be collecting data on regional accents and stuff, I think? She didn't really explain much about it today.
Tuesday:
French 1030-1145: Oral Proficiency
Refresher for me before I get into the fun literature stuff, since it's been ages since I've taken a French course. Haven't had this yet, but it should be fun.
Wednesday:English 1030-1145
Japanese 1230-120
Choir 130-245
Thursday:
French 1030-1145
Friday:
Japanese 1230-120
Choir 130-245
Linguistics 3-415 (recitation)
From what I gather, this is going to be basically discussion group stuff? Iono. I won't actually be able to go this week, but I shall next week and see how it goes.
Should be a fun semester ^^ looking forward to it
