today started relatively early (early by my standards, anyway, especially since at least half the group thought today we'd just be chilling and getting over jetlag), meeting up in the lobby at 830. at that point, we went to the university (taking cabs, which cost half a dinar) for orientation. we met our teachers (the session we spent with ours was a little overwhelming, but i think once i get a little more settled in it'll go better), got a brief tour of the campus, etc. then we went to get photos for the ids (4 dinar for 8 pictures), then back on campus to get said ids and grab lunch. then we walked back to the hotel and were given an assignment to wander around and get prices of two things each from five different stores. so, that was a lot of fun.

after we got back from the window-shopping assignment, me and five other people from the group went to this cafe a couple blocks from the hotel and hung out for about an hour and a half. that was a lot of fun, too ^^ though it was a little awkward when we left--it was also a hookah bar, and people were coming in to smoke as we left and giving us odd looks.

amman as a city is...well, it's a city. lots of little tiny local shops that you could almost call stands, which is really nice, that are right next door then to things like subway and mcdonalds. so it's pretty eclectic. most of the buildings are tan or pale red, with sometimes bright red or green rooves. the campus is fairly pretty. for some reason the bottom like third of all the tree trunks are painted white. no idea exactly what's up with that.

the only thing that's been annoying here is that our room is really freaking cold, especially at night. but that's a very small problem. otherwise, things are going great, and i'm really looking forward to classes officially starting tomorrow ^^

Two things.

1) I have a copy of Razor going begging. Would you like it?

2) I now have a pair of set-authentic BSG dog tags. They say W. Adama, but if you didn't have any other plans for your Cain costume, I'm sure they'd work. Want to borrow them?

2) dog tags! i knew i'd forgotten something. ^^ it'll be a while before i get the rest of the costume together, though. but if i can borrow those when i wear it, unless i can find cain tags for cheap, that'd be nice.
