today was awesome :D

me, je, h, ke, ka, b, s, and d went to jerash and explored the ruins there. even though it was an icky grey rainy day, all the ruins were gorgeous. climbing up on some of the temples was a bit treacherous, but i got lots of pictures. and we also got to see the storage area under the temple of artemis where they kept meat. it was dark and kind of freaky wandering around, but totally worth it.

also, there was this group of musicians, who were jordanian, playing a bunch of scottish and american songs on modified iraqi bagpipes in the ampitheatre. it was really freaking awesome :D they were really good.

(all of the staircases were really steep and a little narrow. climbing down those, especially when slippery, suuuuuuuuuuucked)

they usually do a show at the hippodrome, with chariots or gladiators or something, but sadly it they didn't today, i think because of the rain.

anyway, then we got back to amman and went out to lunch. we were going to go up to the citadel here, but it closed at 430 and it was 3 by the time we finished lunch, and we figured by the time we got downtown, we wouldn't really be able to see it. also, it was super foggy and half the point of going to the citadel is the view of the city from up there, so we're going to go probably on monday.

after that, we went back to the hotel and hung out and did movies and homework and stuff. so, a good day. :D
