Dear Imogen:

How is it that the combination of listening to the soundtrack of a musical that a) bears very little resemblance to your life, and b) is set a century after your story plus your stepmother's PB being now in the main cast of the TV show I'm watching woke you up?

If it helps any, Olivia wants to change her name now. No word on what to.

IDEK! I mean, seriously, neither of the female leads of this stupid show is much like her, but she definitely started stirring a little when I started listening to the soundtrack, which was before I got to the Alex Blake episodes in CM which is why I'm pretty sure it's the combo.

Hopefully Imogen won't decide she wants her name changed, too. I like Imogen, and it's uncommon enough to be fun without being weird/out of place. But it took forever for her to settle on Imogen so it's not out of the realm of possibility. ::sigh::

Imogen I swear to god if Olivia makes you want to change your name she is grounded.

I'm pretty sure she won't, just concerned 'cause it took her forever to find one she liked. I mean, she started as Emilia? And I think she went through a few others before settling on Imogen.

And, no, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. I'm seeing it on Saturday!

...do tell. It's an intriguing title at the very least.

It's about this guy, Montague Navarro, who finds out after his mother died that she's from a noble family, and was disowned for marrying his father, an itinerant musician. He has a claim to an earldom through his mother. So, naturally, he decides to murder everyone between him and the title.

It's a comedy :D

It actually sounds hysterical and I don't know whether that's good or bad.

He actually only kills six of the eight people on his list--one has a heart attack, and one is poisoned by someone else.

And, naturally, he gets arrested for the one he didn't kill. He has a line about it in one of the songs: "I've dispatched half a dozen/each one a cousin,/all of them quite by design./This is not a defense,/it just makes no sense!/This murder was not one of mine!"

Also, for the record, Olivia's trying to decide between Julia and Amelia. Thoughts?

...hm. I like Julia, I think? But Amelia is pretty too and my judgement may be clouded by frustration with a thing that has two fairly significant minor characters named Amelia.

Again, mind if I ask?

(My only problem with Julia is that her middle name is Jane, but Im okay with alliteration.)

Well, like I said, two side-characters named Amelia in a particular fandom. And one is a main character in a fic I'm working on, and the other is a brief love interest of another major character in said fic. And it's just...really, writers? There are many, many names out there, you don't need to repeat!

It's also not the only name that's been repeated that isn't, like, painfully common as an excuse. So, mostly annoyed at Amelia for fringe annoyance at the writers because ::sigh.::
