computer woes

it seems that the connector jack thingy on my laptop, where the power cord plugs in, is broken--it's not recognizing the cord, which i just replaced a couple months ago and know is sound (tested it on other laptops in the same brand/etc). i'm taking it to a computer repair place now to see if that's what's going on and what kind of price/timeframe i'd be looking at for getting it fixed. will update as soon as i can get on another computer (am on a school one atm).


UPDATE: dropped my computer off at microcenter. they're going to look it over and contact me in three days. online time at the very least until then will be sporadic--whenever i can borrow my dad's comp or can be on one of the school ones. :/
