So! On rainbowfic , we are doing a Valentine's Day challenge, and I have decided what I want to do for my saturation (I might also do it as a full/regular color list, but for sure the saturation will happen). And, for my planned project, I need suggestions!

Ask me for any character I write or have written and I will tell you, if they existed in the Harry Potter universe:

1. Sorting Hat: what house would they be sorted into?
2. Expecto Patronum: what form would their patronus take?
3. Riddikulus: what form would their boggart (read: their deepest fear/the thing they find scariest) take?
4. Amortentia: the three smells they find most attractive/appealing.

List the first lines of your last twenty stories. See if you find any patterns.

So...fffffff. Man, I don't know. Last time I did something like this, it was a pretty even mix of stuff like either #19 or #11. Short, declarative statements or long ones full of nested clauses that stretch the definition of 'sentence' to the breaking point. I still do a fair amount of that last bit, but I think I've gotten a broader range of sentence styles? I also seem to like doing...it's not exactly if/then structure, but like...set-up clause/concluding and/or contrasting clause? See 1, 3, 4, 9, 12, 13...yeah. Not a lot of dialogue--only three out of twenty, and two of those three are weird settings (one being a super-meta story and the other being...mm...I guess the best way to explain it is the viewpoint character is on the edge of a coma?) Anyway. I seem to like long sentences more than short ones...but at least two of these come from pieces that are all but prose poems...so IDK.

Anyone else notice any patterns? I'm curious...

 Send me one little thing that could have been different and I'll talk about what would happen in that resulting AU!


Any of my origfic is fair game. Fandoms will be on a case-by-case basis, but any fandom that has a tag on my LJ (some I'm into don't have tags on my DW because I try to keep all my fannish stuff on LJ and my origfic on DW) is definitely open.

Because everyone else is doing it, so why not?

Tell me a story I haven’t written, and I will give you at least 1-3 sentences from or about it. Depending on how much it jumps at me/if it's already something I was planning (heh), there might be a lot more.

Three prompts per person, I promise to fill at least one. I'll take requests from Feredar, Lux, BSG, AtLA, or Addie!MCU, but the last one is the least likely to get filled since I haven't played with Addie recently. Then again, getting a request might bump her back up in my head again, so.

Give me a character that I write or have written and I will tell you either what they look like under the Sight or what a soulgaze with them would be like. Specify which one you prefer, or I'll choose.

For the uninitiated, both concepts come from Jim Butcher's Dresden Files series. Sight or Third Eye shows people's true forms, usually in a metaphorical fashion and a soulgaze shows what that person's soul looks like, with their past, present and possible futures and innermost essences on view, unable to hide anything, usually only in a metaphorical fashion.

Anyone I write is up for grabs--original or fandom. If requesting fandom, please restrict to BSG and AtLA (with the exception of bookblather, who can ask for Addie if she so chooses), but within those two I'll take a gander at canon characters too.

Post here with a character's name, and I'll upload you a song that reminds me of them. Original characters only, please, but OCs do count as original. You can ask for as many characters as you want, but I don't guarantee songs for all of them. Please stick to AtLA, BSG, or Feredar.


And now, because it's making the rounds again generally:


1. Open up your music player. Hit shuffle.
2. Record the first few lines of the first thirty pieces of music that come up that do not give away the name. Skip instrumentals, but don't skip the embarrassing ones.
3. Make hapless internet denizens guess the song names and artists. Google is cheating. For musicals/other soundtracks, the name of the show/movie is acceptable in place of the artist.
4. Least hapless internet denizen wins admiration. That's right, just like a computer when you don't have power, the points don't matter.

Make a list of all the characters in your icons. (Although you may have more than one icon of a single character, they only go on the list once.) Alphabetize it. Take the first two people on the list; that's your first pairing. Second two people; second pairing, etc. Treat us to some commentary once you're done. 

I am including both my DW and LJ icons, since i have different pools and wanted a longer list XD. I alphebetized by whatever name they're most commonly called in their canon and/or story and/or how I refer to them in my head (last name vs first name vs callsign for BSG folks).
